Tour Essence

We will begin our journey by travelling to the city of Évora, Alentejo region’s capital and inviting you to discover the city that UNESCO classified as a World Heritage site due to its excellent preservation throughout history. Walking around Évora is like walking around centuries of architecture and civilization. However, this vibrant university town has preserved its history and architecture without decharacterizing it. In Évora, we will focus on some of these different architectural styles as the perfect excuse to wander through its narrow streets.

Itinerary

1Journey to Évora

We will begin our journey by traveling to the city of Évora, Alentejo region’s capital, inviting you to discover the city that UNESCO classified as a World Heritage site due to its excellent preservation throughout history. Walking around Évora is like walking around centuries of architecture and civilization. However, this vibrant university town has preserved its history and architecture without decharacterizing it. In Évora, we will focus on some of these different architectural styles as the perfect excuse to wander through its narrow streets.

2Évora

Evora’s imposing cathedral, the country’s largest medieval cathedral, will impress you with its cloisters and a stunning panoramic view over the entire city. In fact, Évora’s achitectural legacy is so impressive that one quickly passes from Roman to neoclassical, going through Gothic and the various expressions of the Manueline, Renaissance and Baroque. All periods in history are documented with inumerous works. We will begin by visiting a key courtyard, essential to the defensive structure of the city which dates back to the Roman-Visigoth period. At the palace, you will be astonished by a landmark filled with memories and mystery.

3City walk

We will have some time to visit the historic area and walk its magnificent streets, not forgetting however, to stop to relax and savor the typical flavors of Alentejo.

4Architecture

Architecture as an art form will also be addressed in the afternoon. We’ll visit a landscaped paradise, whose essence is a tribute to nature, fully respecting Andy Warhol’s quote “Having land and not spoiling it is the most beautiful form of art.” We will visit this innovative winery with about 2500 acres of pure Alentejo surrounding it.

5Wine tasting

The visit to the innovative winery ends with wine tasting in an equally stunning space.

6Return to Lisbon

After the unique wine tasting we will travel back into Lisbon.
